The Chemex Coffee Maker is a very simple invention by Peter Schlumbohm, the founder of Pittsfield's Chemex. It's made from non-corrosive borosilicate glass, which prevents any undesirable outside flavor.

Chemex is made of borosilicate glass connected to a funnel in the shape of an hourglass and has a wooden corset in the middle, which is attached to the glass with a leather strap. It's simple to use.
Instructions:
Place a paper filter in the top of the glass container and rinse with plenty of hot water. Add the appropriate amount of medium-fine ground coffe, usually 60g of coffee to 1l of water. Cover with boiled water (93°C) and as soon as coffee starts to drip, add more water and stir. Repeat until you run out of water.
