Ethiopia coffee
Ethiopia is considered the true homeland of the coffee tree. It is often directly associated with the word coffee, derived from the name of the Ethiopian province of Kaffa. It was where the first coffee bush was supposedly "discovered". Coffee grown in Ethiopia has a wine-like aroma and a rich, harmonious flavour. Experts rank it among the best in the world. Arabica beans are divided into long-berry and short-berry types. Longberry beans are more appreciated for their winey, spicy flavour.
The country has ideal conditions for growing coffee trees. Excellent coffee comes, for example, from the Tana plateau, where arabica bushes grow wild in groves, farms and large plantations. Ethiopians process coffee using dry and wet methods and export the green beans mainly to Germany, France and Japan.
