Guatemala coffee
Guatemala has known coffee trees since the early 18th century. No wonder that it excels above others in growing and harvesting red coffee cherries. Arabica plantations can be found in every corner of the country, at altitudes above 1,500 metres. Over 75,000 farms and local farmers are involved. What does Guatemalan coffee taste like? Generally, it can be described as chocolate-sweet, sometimes nutty, smelling of flowers and citrus. It has a rich, round body and a bright acidity.
The Atitlan and Antigua harvests are among the best, while the Coban, San Marcos and Huehuetenango harvests are also worthy of attention. We are sure you will find your favourite among Guatemalan coffees!
