100 % RobustaCrema and flavour of the coffee
Robusta Guatemala El Pacifico is a truly intense and flavourful coffee. If you taste it carefully, you can detect chocolate, juicy citrus fruits, and marzipan with a slight caramel dot. One of the advantages of Robusta is its ability to form a thick, high, and cohesive crema. Enjoy!
Origin of the coffee
Tourists seek out Guatemala for its nature and long sandy beaches, which are atypically black. They can climb the slopes of extinct and still-active volcanoes, visit ancient colonial towns, and observe rare birds in reserves. But they can also head to one of the coffee plantations. And it will not be hard to find - Guatemala is one of the world's top coffee producers.
The Central American country, half of which is covered in rainforest, experienced its biggest coffee boom throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. Today, this small country exports 3.1 million bags of coffee a year (1 bag = 60 kg). The largest buyers are the United States, Japan, and Canada.
It is worth mentioning that Guatemala has perfect natural conditions for growing coffee plants (Coffea). The temperature ranges between 16 and 32°C, the hillsides are exposed to winds from the Atlantic, which bring welcome rainfall, and the volcanic soil is rich in the necessary mineral elements. Of course, the high quality of the coffee is also due to the honest and long-term work of the local farmers. They usually work in cooperatives, providing them with the necessary technical equipment, various social programs, and adequate coffee prices. The latest figures put the number of peasants who grow coffee at 125,000.
Coffee is grown at higher altitudes in Guatemala. It is not uncommon for farmers to shade it and protect it from the cold northern winds. The red coffee cherries are harvested between December and April, and in some areas, the harvest is one of the biggest social events associated with celebrations or festivals of music and dance. Workers process the fruit of the coffee tree through what is known as washing, i.e., in water. First, they remove the skins by pressing them through crushing plates, then ferment them and dry the loose coffee beans. Most often in direct sunlight.
This Robusta comes from the north-western part of Guatemala - the San Marcos region, situated on the slope of a volcano. You would find the plantation itself at an altitude of 1,100 metres.

Coffee packaging preview
Our quality aluminum packaging lacks any bold graphics, as we’d rather focus on the taste of our coffee. It always comes fresh thanks to degassing valve, which releases the gases that occur after roasting. Thanks to the hermetic seal, this container helps the contents further keep their freshness and protect them against humidity, light or foreign odors.
