Benefits of bergamot
The size of an orange, the appearance similar to a lemon, the taste of lime and it is impossible to eat...what is it? Bergamot! And you did not know it was a citrus? Not surprisingly, bergamot is talked about more in connection with its essential oils than as a fruit.
Bergamot is the fruit of a cross between an orange and a lemon. It is a tropical fruit, but the vast majority of production comes directly from Europe, specifically from the Calabria region of Italy. It can also be found in Thailand, Brazil and Turkey.
Bergamot essential oil is cold pressed from the peel and the resulting essential oil must not come into contact with direct sunlight. However, obtaining sufficient quantities of the oil is not easy. You can only get about 85 grams of essential oil from about a hundred bergamots.
The scent is very intense, so it is no wonder it often appears in perfumes and eau de toilette. Aromatherapy and tea lovers in particular are enthusiastic about bergamot essential oil. It is bergamot that can turn ordinary black tea into the famous Earl Grey, which the English love to enjoy with milk. The fresh and pleasantly sour taste stands out and refreshes, so you do not have to settle for just tea at five, but perhaps an iced version for hot summer days.
The dosage depends on how you take it, but specifically for tea, two to three cups a day is sufficient.
