Benefits of bramble leaves
Do you dig through the prickly tendrils of bramble to get to the sweet berries but do not notice the leaves? You are making a huge mistake! You need to brush up on your knowledge of ancient Greece and remind yourself what the bramble can do.
Blackberry leaves have always been commonly used in folk medicine. This thorny shrub with long tendrils thrives in our conditions. However, due to the large number of different varieties, you can find it almost anywhere. It was already hugely popular in ancient Greece and Rome, but with the advent of Christianity, it has fallen into the shadows.
In Christian symbology, the bramble was looked down upon as a sign of ignorance or obscurantism. The crown of thorns was also substituted for its peduncles in depicting the Passion of Christ.
Gradually, fortunately, positive perceptions of the plant prevailed, and its popularity only grew. The infusion of the dried leaves is delicious. You can sip it or make a stronger decoction into a gargle. But use it wisely. Too much can cause stomach upset, so one to two cups a day is recommended. Pregnant and breastfeeding women and children under the age of two should avoid it altogether.
