Benefits of silybum
See if you can say the word thistle five times in a quick sequence. This term refers to the herb known as milk thistle (because of its appearance). It has been associated with the Virgin Mary since time immemorial and has become indispensable in folk medicine.
The first benefits of this herb were recorded as early as the beginning of our era. And since then, its fame has been growing. The vital ability to stop green toadflax poisoning certainly plays a part in this. A milk thistle is an annual or biennial plant with deep green leaves that have an irregular white ornamentation resembling a milk spot. It has a distinctive purple flower that is tempting to confuse with a thistle.
It is commonly found in California, but it also grows along the Mediterranean and parts of Asia. It is not often found in the wild under our conditions.
The whole plant is suitable for consumption, but its fruits, which are recommended to be dried and crushed, are the most effective. The experience of grandmothers speaks clearly - thistle is best consumed separately by spoonfuls. However, we advise to mix it into yoghurt or smoothies, for example. You can also pour it on warm water up to 40 °C, but its rather bland appearance and taste will not impress you, so try flavouring it with honey. You do not have to worry about any side effects, so go ahead.
