The Typica variety from the Puno region of Peru is typical for its full, round body and light sweetness. We have enriched this delicious bean with the delicate flavour of French liqueur, which doesn't affect the acidity or the crema. Everything is as it should be. The espresso from Night in Paris has a thick, light, and compact crema.

Origins

The Puno region is located in the Andes Mountains, near the world's largest alpine lake, Lake Titicaca. Coffee growing in Peru is almost exclusively carried out by local farmers. Small plantations are cultivated in harsh terrain, which is why their production is similar to organic quality. It is almost impossible to transport fertilizers or chemical sprays to the slopes of the wild Andes. Even harvesting coffee cherries is not easy. It means climbing steep slopes and carrying bags of up to sixty kilograms of the crop down to dirt roads.

Peruvians process the fruit of coffee plants by a process known as washing, which guarantees high quality. The beans are finally dried in the sun, sorted by quality level, and packed. The green coffee goes on the market. The process of flavoring coffee beans can be done in two ways: by flavoring after roasting or by the more demanding and expensive technology of flavoring during roasting. We go for the for the latter. The result is a delicately flavored coffee that retains its natural characteristics typical of the region where it was grown. 

Making Flavored Coffee in an Automatic Coffee Maker

If you intend to make flavored coffee in an automatic coffee maker with a tray, we recommend checking the instructions for the coffee maker to ensure this is possible. If the machine manufacturer does not provide any information on flavored coffee, follow these recommendations:

The natural aroma in this coffee may react with the plastic in the tray and cause it to spot on prolonged contact.

  • Always use only as much flavored coffee as you will immediately consume.
  • After preparing your flavored coffee, make your next cup with unflavored coffee.

Apply same rules when grinding flavored coffee in grinders (both manual and electric).

Instructions for preparation

Grind your coffee according to your preferred method.
Use 14ml of water per 1g of coffee. For 1 cup of coffee use 7g.
Add your coffee and pour over with boiled water (95°C).
