Togo Grade1 Robusta – Roasted Coffee
Robusta of the African land of Togo is one of the gourmet coffees. Its cocoa flavor with mild acidity and chocolate aroma will beautifully complement your favorite arabica. But don't just stick to espresso blends – this robusta is also excellent on its own. Try it as an espresso, on a filter, or as a cold brew. It's a naturally processed coffee, so you can expect some sweet and fruity flavors.
Ingredients
100 % RobustaTaste & Crema
Robusta Togo Grade1 has a wonderful cocoa flavor that is crowned by a bitter chocolate aftertaste. It makes a compact, round drink with a low acidity. Because it is a robusta, the resulting crema will be taller and firmer.
We recommend preparing the coffee, for example, on a filter, or as a cold brew. You can add it to your choice of highi-quality arabica to create your unique espresso blend.
Origins
If you didn't know exactly where to look for Togo until now, we're gonna show you. Located in West Africa and bordering Ghana, Burkina Faso and Benin, the land is washed by the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Togo covers more than 60,000km2 and the capital, Lomé, is an important trading centre and port exporting many commodities from across the country. Properly called the Republic of Tonga, the northern part of the country is covered by savannah, while the south used to be dominated by tropical rainforest, which people have turned into plantations. The climate can be described as tropical, with monsoons, and hot and humid summers followed by dry winters.
The Plateaux region is located in the south-west of Togo and is known for its plateaus and mountainous geography. It's home to some of Togo's most beautiful forests, rich in biodiversity. The tropical climate is characterized by the rainy season – it comes twice a year: from March to July and from September to October. That allows farmers to grow not only cocoa trees but also coffee trees.
The coffee plantations are shaded by tall trees, which protect them from the sun and provide the bushes with a supply of nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and more. That, of course, has a positive effect on the growth of the coffee bushes.
Togo produces and sells to exporters its coffee ungraded ("tout venant" in French). Exporters can sort the beans according to size and quality, as well as various defects, into Grade 1, Grade 2 and Grade 3.

Coffee packaging preview
Our quality aluminum packaging lacks any bold graphics, as we’d rather focus on the taste of our coffee. It always comes fresh thanks to degassing valve, which releases the gases that occur after roasting. Thanks to the hermetic seal, this container helps the contents further keep their freshness and protect them against humidity, light or foreign odors.
