Congo Del Kasai Robusta – Roasted Coffee
Diamonds. The world's largest deposit of industrial diamonds lies in the central Congo province. But the country produces another rare treasure – coffee. The beautiful, regular beans of Congolese coffee make a full-bodied beverage with a delightful bitterness and hazelnut flavor. Its acidity is medium, which makes Del Kasai one of the most popular coffees.
Ingredients
100 % RobustaTaste & Crema
Congolese robusta stands out for its medium acidity despite its rich body and bitter taste. You will recognize hazelnuts in it. If you make it as is, you will get a strong-tasting coffee with a high, compact crema. However, you can try experimenting and mixing it with one of the delicious arabicas to make an espresso blend.
Origins
In the Democratic Republic of Congo, coffee is grown and processed by about 11,000 farmers. They usually work in cooperatives, the best known being Furaha, Muungano, and Sopacdi. Their role is to represent producers in meetings with distributors.
The Central African country focuses mainly on robusta exports, with arabica accounting for just a fifth of the total production. We will point out that yields are currently growing only very slowly. The damage done during the civil wars in 1997 and 1998 is probably to blame. Before them, Congo exported around 120,000 tonnes of quality coffee. After the peace agreement, it was only 32,000 tonnes in 2002 and 40,000 tonnes a year later. The government has released $100 million for the rehabilitation of coffee plantations.
The second-largest state in Central Africa is also known as Congo-Kinshasa or formerly Zaire (between 1971 and 1997). Its landscape includes both plains and mountains, both coast and interior. The northern areas are in a humid tropical climate zone, with average temperatures reaching 25°C. In the south, rainfall is less, and temperatures fluctuate.
Del Kasai is one of the 26 provinces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. As well as being home to industrial diamond mining, the area has made its mark on the minds of coffee lovers. Robusta from Del Kasai has a beautiful taste. That is due to the relatively low altitude at which the coffee trees grow and the careful processing of the coffee cherries.

Coffee packaging preview
Our quality aluminum packaging lacks any bold graphics, as we’d rather focus on the taste of our coffee. It always comes fresh thanks to degassing valve, which releases the gases that occur after roasting. Thanks to the hermetic seal, this container helps the contents further keep their freshness and protect them against humidity, light or foreign odors.
