On the first sip, Instant Coffee Mexico 100% Robusta will captivate you with its mild and balanced character. That's a very unusual quality among robustas. The taste is dominated by notes of caramel and cocoa which gradually morph into a light chocolatey finish. The impression feels round, smooth, and pleasantly, mildly sweet, without intrusive acidity. Thanks to this, you can enjoy it as is. However, it also goes well with milk.

Origins

The instant coffee we’d like to introduce to you comes from the Mexican state of Veracruz, a region stretching along the Gulf of Mexico coast. Veracruz is one of the country’s most important coffee-growing regions and has been associated for generations with the production of coffee with a rich body, lower acidity, and a pleasantly sweet flavor. The tropical climate, regular rainfall, and fertile volcanic soil create ideal conditions for growing coffee plants. Local plantations are often located in hilly terrain, where the coffee plants benefit from ample moisture and the alternation of warm days and cooler nights.

Unlike many other Mexican coffees, which are typically based primarily on arabica, this one is 100% robusta. Robusta offers a more intense flavor, higher caffeine content, and a more pronounced body. Thanks to the conditions in the Veracruz region, however, it doesn't taste harsh or overly earthy. On the contrary, it surprises with its delicacy, smoothness, and naturally sweet profile featuring notes of caramel and cocoa.

The production method itself is also interesting. To proceed after the coffee is roasted, there needs to be a strong coffee extract. This extract then undergoes a spray-drying process. During this process, the liquid extract is dispersed into the drying chamber in the form of a very fine mist. Upon contact with a stream of hot air, the water evaporates almost immediately, resulting in a fine, soluble powder.

Although spray-drying is typically simpler than freeze-drying, modern techniques now make it possible to preserve a stable flavor profile and a distinctive aroma. This results in instant coffee that dissolves easily, brews quickly, and offers a surprisingly rich flavor experience. That is precisely why instant coffee has remained popular around the world for decades – it combines convenience with a flavor you can enjoy practically anywhere.

Instructions for preparation

  1. For best experience use a 150ml cup.
  2. Add 1 teaspoon of coffee and pour over with boiled water (90°C). Boiling water may negatively affect taste.
