Dimensions | 17,8 x ⌀ 4,7 cm

Material | Stainless steel, ceramic

Instruction Manual:

  1. Remove the lid by turning. Add an appropriate amount of roasted whole-bean coffee.
  2. Place the lid and firmly place the handle on the center shaft.
  3. Hold the body in one hand. Use your other hand to turn the handle using clockwise motion. Once the handle starts moving freely, the coffee is ground and ready in the bottom vessel.

Grinding coarseness:

  • You can control the coarseness using the adjustable gear on the bottom of the grinding mechanism.
  • Clockwise motions ↻ = Finer grind = Espresso, moka pot, AeroPress
  • Counter-clockwise motions ↺ = Courses grind = Pour-over (V60), drip coffee, French press
  • Adjusting the grinding coarseness
    • Clear the area around the grinding stones: Before you start adjusting, make sure that there is not any residual coffee of stuck coffee beans. This is especially important if you are moving from a coarse grind to a finer degree.
    • Find the default setting: Tighten the gear until the grinding stones touch. This is the default setting (finest grind). From here, you can count turns until you achieve desired coarseness.
    • If you tighten the gear too much, the ceramic stones will be locked together. Never attempt to forcefully move the gear if the stones are touching to avoid shattering them. The perfect fine grind is achieved if the stones are almost touching – you can check by assembling the handle. It should move freely.
    • Watch the limit for coarse grinds: If you turn the gear too far counter-clockwise (for extra coarse grind), the gear as well as the grinding stones may loosen and fall out.

Cleaning & Maintenance

  1. Disassembly – Completely remove the adjustable gear to take out the ceramic stones and inner parts from the central shaft.
  2. Gentle cleaning – Use a soft brush (e.g., an old toothbrush) to gently remove the coffee oils and dust from the ceramic stones.
  3. Thorough drying – Never use a wet grinder. If the inside of the grinder remains humid, allow all parts to air-dry completely before next use.

How to assemble

If you disassembled the grinder for cleaning purposes, use the following steps to assemble it back:

  1. Check the grooves: Make sure that the the 3 small grooves on the outer part of the outer stone are completely clean and free of any residue.
  2. Assemble the outer stone: Line the 3 grooves with the matching parts inside the grinder. Press the stone down until firmly set; it must not move.
  3. Assemble the center stone: Place the cone-shaped center (inner) stone back on the central shaft.
  4. Assemble the gear: Screw the adjustable gear back on the central shaft. Ensure that the gear is placed on the correct side – the protruding/indenting side must face inside to properly fit into the grinding stone.
  5. Find the default setting (see Adjusting the grinding coarseness).

Safety Warning

  • For dry coffee beans only: Only grind dry coffee beans. Check for small stones or impurities that can occur in whole-bean coffee.
  • If the handle becomes blocked, stop immediately: If the handle is stuck or you hear a creaking, stop grinding at once. Disassemble the grinder and remove the foreign object.
  • Do not use empty: Avoid aggressive grinding if the grinder is empty (especially on default setting), as the friction can dull the grinding stones.
  • Handle with care: The ceramic stones are especially hard, but brittle. If the grinder falls on a hard surface, carefully check if the stones are cracked or chipped before next use.
  • Never use a damaged product.
  • Not microwave, oven, stove, or direct-heat safe.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
