Chicory (Cichorium intybus), native to Europe, is now grown in many countries such as the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Germany. The roots of this herb were used as a coffee substitute, especially in East Germany during the coffee crisis of the 1980s. Chicory is known for supporting normal liver and gallbladder function, the intestinal tract, the heart and blood vessels, and bone and joint health.
Reishi, a traditional Chinese mushroom, is valued for boosting immunity and improving the blood circulation. It's scientifically known as Genoderma lucidum and most often made into extracts or powders.
Shatavari (Indian asparagus, Asparagus racemosus) is an Indian herb known in Ayurveda for supporting the reproductive system and cardiovascular health. If you are wondering what it looks like, let us add that it's a climbing shrub growing on the rocks of Nepal, India and Sri Lanka.
