Origins
Typica is a classic arabica coffee variety. It originated in Ethiopia but is now grown on many plantations worldwide. The coffee plants grow up to 4m tall, and although they are not very productive, the quality of the fruit is far superior to other varieties. South American smallholder plantations produce magnificent coffee due to the high altitude, climate, and high humidity. And the fact that they are not fertilized or treated with industrial products.
Coffee from the Andes is often referred to as organically grown. The fruit of the coffee plant, the so-called coffee cherry, ripens for 9-14 months, so they have to be harvested gradually. The Typica variety is processed by washing. The berries are placed in water, pressed through crushing plates, and stripped of their flesh. The loosened beans are further fermented in the water. After about 36 hours, drying takes place. Farmers either dry the coffee in ovens or in direct sunlight. Both these processes have their advantages and disadvantages. Either way, farmers need to be ceareful and avoid mold.
Roasting coffee is a step that should immediately precede (within a few days) its consumption. That is why we roast the beans only at the moment you order the coffee. If you choose flavored coffee, the flavoring takes place just before roasting. The roaster applies a spray of carrier oil with natural flavoring to the coffee. While this is a more expensive technology than flavoring the coffee after roasting, it produces much better results. Coffee flavored in this way retains its aroma and taste for longer. In addition, the aroma never overpowers the natural characteristics of the coffee but complements them harmoniously.
Making Flavored Coffee in an Automatic Coffee Maker
|
If you intend to make flavored coffee in an automatic coffee maker with a tray, we recommend checking the instructions for the coffee maker to ensure this is possible. If the machine manufacturer does not provide any information on flavored coffee, follow these recommendations: The natural aroma in this coffee may react with the plastic in the tray and cause it to spot on prolonged contact.
Apply same rules when grinding flavored coffee in grinders (both manual and electric). |

Coffee packaging preview
Our quality aluminum packaging lacks any bold graphics, as we’d rather focus on the taste of our coffee. It always comes fresh thanks to degassing valve, which releases the gases that occur after roasting. Thanks to the hermetic seal, this container helps the contents further keep their freshness and protect them against humidity, light or foreign odors.
