Ingredients

100 % Arabica, Aroma

Taste & Crema

The taste of Gingerbread is slightly spicy and sweet with notes of cinnamon, star anise, and cloves. The light acidity of Brazilian arabica goes perfectly with the sweet aroma and creates a harmonious experience suitable for late mornings or sweet afternoon treats. Ideal for those who want a fragrant beverage that’s not overtly sweet.

Origins

The base Gingerbread coffee is a premium Brazilian arabica, namely Santos NY2. We brought it from the São Paulo region, where coffee trees are grown at an altitude of around 1,000 m. It’s to nobody’s surprise that the local arabica is one of the most iconic Brazilian varieties. It’s renowned for its smoothness, minimal acidity, and pleasant sweetness, making it an excellent base for flavored coffees and select espresso blends. It offers a clean flavor profile that doesn’t distract, but rather allows the added tones to shine through – in this case, the warm aroma of gingerbread.

Brazil has been the world's largest coffee producer for over 150 years. The cultivation of coffee trees (Coffea arabica) dates back to the end of the 18th century. Thanks to ideal climatic conditions, high-quality soil, and extensive plantations, the country quickly became a coffee superpower. Brazilian coffees are known for their full body, chocolate-nutty tones, and very low acidity. This is precisely why they carry both fruity and spicy aromas so beautifully. Fresh Gingerbread coffee is the only proof you need!

Incidentally, gingerbread also has a rather interesting history. Its roots date back to ancient Egypt and Greece, but it truly flourished in medieval Europe. During the time, gingerbread guilds were formed and even sold their products at their local markets, fairs, and monasteries. The name itself stems from ‘gingerbrar’, meaning preserved ginger, and later morphed into the suffix -bread.

At the turn of the 19th century, gingerbread cookies became the symbol of winter festivities and were given as gifts or used as Christmas tree ornaments. Their aroma is an integral part of the home atmosphere during Advent time. And it’s precisely this memory, aroma, and emotion that our gingerbread coffee will bring to you.

Making Flavored Coffee in an Automatic Coffee Maker

If you intend to make flavored coffee in an automatic coffee maker with a tray, we recommend checking the instructions for the coffee maker to ensure this is possible. If the machine manufacturer does not provide any information on flavored coffee, follow these recommendations:

The natural aroma in this coffee may react with the plastic in the tray and cause it to spot on prolonged contact.

  • Always use only as much flavored coffee as you will immediately consume.
  • After preparing your flavored coffee, make your next cup with unflavored coffee.

Apply same rules when grinding flavored coffee in grinders (both manual and electric).
