Taste & Crema

The taste of Half-Caff Coffee combines the mild sweetness of chocolate, smooth notes of hazelnuts and walnuts, and a prominent fruit note. It’s medium-full, harmonious, and pleasantly round, with a lasting aftertaste. Thanks to the lower caffeine content, it’s less forceful, so it’s suitable for anyone looking for a milder variety of everyday espresso or cappuccino.

Origins

Both ingredients used to make Half-Caff coffee come from Brazil, the world's largest coffee producer and, in our humble opinion, a country that has turned coffee cultivation into an art form.

The first ingredient in the blend is Brazil Santos NY2 SSFC 17/18, a cultivar of arabica from the São Paulo region, grown at altitudes of around 1,300 meters. The Bourbon variety of coffee tree (Coffea arabica) that grows here is considered one of the most valuable. Thanks to the fertile soil and ideal climate, the coffee acquires a signature profile with low acidity and a taste that combines delicate chocolate, nuts, and subtle fruity tones.

Harvesting takes place from June to September, when the coffee cherries are picked by hand or machine and then processed using the wet method. Workers must first sort the harvested fruits in water, then let them ferment, and finally dry the de-skinned coffee beans in the sun. It’s this method that gives Santos its harmonious and balanced character which makes it so popular around the world.

The second component is Brazil Minas Swiss Water Decaf. We brought it from the Sul de Minas region, known for its rolling landscape, favorable rainfall, and family farms that have been passing down their expertise for generations. The local Bourbon arabica grows at an altitude of 1,200-1,300 meters and is prized for its smoothness and balanced flavor. After harvesting, farmers process the coffee in the same way as their colleagues in the Santos region. But then comes the unique Swiss Water Decaf process. This removes caffeine from the beans using only hot water and carbon filters, without the use of chemicals. As a result, the coffee retains its full body, chocolate-nutty character, and pleasant sweetness. After this process, less than 0.01% of caffeine remains in the coffee, which means that even those who limit their coffee intake for health reasons can enjoy this decaf gem.

Half-Caff is the result of the careful work of farmers who know how to combine quality, tradition, and modern processing methods to offer you coffee that you can enjoy at any time of the day without risking the quality of your sleep.

Coffee packaging preview

Our quality aluminum packaging lacks any bold graphics, as we’d rather focus on the taste of our coffee. It always comes fresh thanks to degassing valve, which releases the gases that occur after roasting. Thanks to the hermetic seal, this container helps the contents further keep their freshness and protect them against humidity, light or foreign odors.

Instructions for preparation

  1. Grind your coffee according to your preferred method.
  2. Use 14ml of water per 1g of coffee. For 1 cup of coffee use 7g.
  3. Add your coffee and pour over with boiled water (95°C).
