Origins
There are approximately 250,000 coffee farmers in India, almost 90% of whom are smallholders. Around 80% of India's coffee goes for export, mostly to Germany, Russia, Italy, Spain, Belgium, the US, and France.
Coffee is traditionally grown in three regions: Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu, but more places are slowly joining the list. The systematic cultivation of coffee trees is said to have been started by St. Bababudan, who smuggled the magical seven coffee fruits from Yemen into India. Coffee plantations began to flourish in the mid-19th century with the arrival of British colonizers.
All Indian coffee trees grow in the shade, often near spices such as cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, and nutmeg. It allows the coffee fruit to absorb its unique aroma. They bloom for 3-4 days with white flowers and if you've seen coffee plantations in bloom, you'd never forget. The fruit is harvested nine months after flowering, from January to March, exclusively by hand.
Wet-processing (fully washed, wet-processed) separates the defective cherries from the healthy ones, removing the skins and the sticky layer in the fermentation vessels. The coffee beans are dried by workers in the sun or kilns, most often alternating between the two methods.
The AA designation in the name of this coffee lets you know that it is a quality bean of uniform size.

Coffee packaging preview
Our quality aluminum packaging lacks any bold graphics, as we’d rather focus on the taste of our coffee. It always comes fresh thanks to degassing valve, which releases the gases that occur after roasting. Thanks to the hermetic seal, this container helps the contents further keep their freshness and protect them against humidity, light or foreign odors.
