Instant Vietnamese coffee is a typical robusta. It stands out with an intense and earthy profile, a more pronounced bitterness and an overall full, energizing flavor. This is what makes it popular with coffee connoisseurs around the world.
Origins
Vietnamese coffee is special for at least two reasons. Firstly, it has a truly rich history. Secondly, it is mainly robusta. These put it on the global coffee map as the world's largest producer of this variety.
Robusta (Coffea canephora) is native to West and Central Africa. It is typical for its high resistance to disease and pests, and (unlike arabica) it grows at lower altitudes. Therefore, it requires higher temperatures, which makes it suitable for growing in tropical areas. These are the weather conditions of Vietnam, where 90% of the coffee plants are of the robusta variety.
In terms of flavor, robusta is known for its strength, earthiness and bitterness. In addition, it contains more caffeine than arabica – usually about twice as much. This is what gives it a more pronounced bitterness, so it is often used in coffee blends to enhance the intensity and richness, typically in Italian espressos.
It is interesting how they apply robusta directly to Vietnam. They use it not only for traditional coffee drinks but also for specialities, such as the special Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk. You can buy it under the name ca phe sua da. Another popular method is to prepare coffee using a Phin filter. It allows the coffee to drip very slowly, so the result is a distinctive and concentrated beverage suitable for serving in many varieties.

Coffee packaging preview
Our quality aluminum packaging lacks any bold graphics, as we’d rather focus on the taste of our coffee. It always comes fresh thanks to degassing valve, which releases the gases that occur after roasting. Thanks to the hermetic seal, this container helps the contents further keep their freshness and protect them against humidity, light or foreign odors.
Instructions for preparation
- For best experience use a 90ml cup.
- Add 1-2 teaspoons of coffee and pour over with boiled water warmed up to 90°C. Using boiling water may negatively affect taste.
