Taste & Crema

Irish Cream Decaf is based on the popular Brazilian Minas Swiss Water Decaf. You will find traces of chocolate and nuts, and you can count on a rich body and balanced acidity. Adding a few drops of natural Irish cream flavoring gives the coffee an extra touch of Irish liqueur and sweet cream.

Origins

The experts are clear about Brazilian coffee. It's high-quality, delicious, and easily accessible. Unsurprisingly, Brazil is the world's largest coffee producer, with plantations covering almost 30,000km2. They are usually found in the southeastern regions of Paraná, São Paulo, and Minas Gerais. The base for this flavor treat come from the last one.

Sul de Minas is a hilly region with a mild climate and sufficient rainfall to provide excellent growing conditions for coffee plants. More than half of the farms there are run by small farmers farming 10-150 hectares of land. They have been doing so for several generations, passing on skills within their families and developing them continuously. As a result, the quality and quantity of their coffee have grown significantly in recent years.

The harvest in Sul de Minas runs from June to September. The fruit of the coffee tree (Coffea arabica) is often harvested manually by workers. They also use large tarpaulins, which they spread out under the bushes to make full use of all the coffee cherries, including those that fall to the ground when plucked. They process the coffee by washing it. They pour the coffee cherries into the water and use crushing plates to remove the top skin. They then transfer it to fermentation tanks where the harvest is rests for some time. They dry the loosened green beans, usually in direct sunlight.

Decaffeinating coffee is a relatively demanding and expensive process. It must be immersed in hot, continuously flowing water, gradually leaching out the caffeine. A system of activated carbon filters captures it. At the end of the approximately 10-hour process, the coffee has less than 0.1% caffeine, but all of the excellent aromatic properties. The certified Swiss Water process uses no harmful elements and is environmentally friendly.

After this comes the roasting and flavoring. Our roaster works very gently and carefully with a natural aroma. The carrier oil with aromatic substances is sprayed onto the green coffee beans just before roasting. As a result, it's better worked into the coffee and lingers for a long time.

Making Flavored Coffee in an Automatic Coffee Machine

If you intend to make flavored coffee in an automatic coffee maker with a tray, we recommend checking the instructions for the coffee maker to ensure this is possible. If the machine manufacturer does not provide any information on flavored coffee, follow these recommendations:

The natural aroma in this coffee may react with the plastic in the tray and cause it to spot on prolonged contact.

  • Always use only as much flavored coffee as you will immediately consume.
  • After preparing your flavored coffee, make your next cup with unflavored coffee.

Apply same rules when grinding flavored coffee in grinders (both manual and electric).

Coffee packaging preview

Our quality aluminum packaging lacks any bold graphics, as we’d rather focus on the taste of our coffee. It always comes fresh thanks to degassing valve, which releases the gases that occur after roasting. Thanks to the hermetic seal, this container helps the contents further keep their freshness and protect them against humidity, light or foreign odors.

Instructions for preparation
