Java is one of the coffees you remember after the first sip. Only a few varieties worldwide provide such an exceptionally distinctive flavor and unusually intense aroma. Tasting it will give you a bittersweet experience, perhaps surprising you with its low acidity and certainly impressing you with its tobacco notes. In the aroma, you will identify the sweetness of palm sugar and the appealing mocha aroma. When it comes to preparation, most coffee drinkers combine robusta with the finer arabica for a unique home espresso blend. Give it a try! But do not give up on brewing in a moka pot or on a filter, either. This coffee deserves to be experimented with and discovered for its beauty in many forms.
Origins
In Sumatra, coffee plants (Coffea arabica) are grown at around 760-1,520m. Experts say this has been true since 1884. The first plantations were established near Lake Toba, the world's largest volcanic lake – coffee plants benefit from the volcanic soil rich in minerals but also the island's hot and humid climate. The low-lying areas are typical for frequent rainfall, usually between November and April. The driest months in Sumatra are May and October. That is when Sumatrans usually harvest coffee.
The average coffee farmer in Sumatra farms about 1 hectare of land. They hire laborers to harvest the ripe coffee cherries by hand, and they also process the crop by hand. Most often, they leave it to dry briefly after harvesting, then peel off the top skin and dry the beans, coated in sweet pulp, in the sun. Once the moisture content reaches 11-13%, the grains are stripped of the remaining pulp and prepared for export. This processing results in a coffee with a typical sweet and harmonious flavor and very low acidity.
Java beans are notable for their extraordinary taste and high caffeine content at around 2.2-2.7%. Arabica, on the other hand, contains 1.2-1.5% caffeine. The largest producers of robusta in the world are Vietnam, Brazil, and Indonesia.

Coffee packaging preview
Our quality aluminum packaging lacks any bold graphics, as we’d rather focus on the taste of our coffee. It always comes fresh thanks to degassing valve, which releases the gases that occur after roasting. Thanks to the hermetic seal, this container helps the contents further keep their freshness and protect them against humidity, light or foreign odors.
