Origins
This is coffee elegance! We import it from Kenya, a country known for exceptional harvests loved by coffee lovers all across the world. No wonder – Nyeri and Tharaka Nithi regions have the perfect conditions for growing coffee plants (Coffea arabica). Thanks to their unique climate and nutrient-rich volcanic soil, each coffee bean is almost perfect.
Coffee farmers in Kenya utilize a unique combination of tradition and innovation. Kenya is known for not only large plantations but also small-scale growers who usually form collaboratives and pass their experience onto the next generations. Interested in the area coffee plantations take up in Kenya? It’s around 160,000 hectares, of which the largest part falls to the 2 aforementioned regions.
The name Kijani Kiboko is taken from Swahili – Kijani meaning “green” and Kiboko meaning “hippo”. So, it’s obvious that this coffee will taste refreshing and exceptionally strong. It also offers a long aftertaste, all thanks to the local natural conditions and human care. Once the coffee cherries ripen, Kenyans harvest them manually to ensure the best possible quality. They’re then transported into a processing plant, where the coffee beans are de-pulped and fermented, washed and dried in the African sun. This happens twice a year – during the main harvest from October to December and a smaller harvest during April up until July.
Let’s also mention how this arabica lost its caffeine content. The revolutionary Carbonic Natural™ method is a patented process which removes caffeine molecules without affecting the natural aroma of coffee. It starts with moistening raw coffee with water and steam, which prepares the coffee bean for the next step: adding carbon oxide. This slowly extracts the caffeine while the natural flavor stays in-tact. This process is repeated until the coffee is mostly caffeine-free.

Thanks to the hermetic seal, this container helps the contents further keep their freshness and protect them against humidity, light or foreign odors.
