Origins
Between Zambia, Tanzania, and Mozambique lies a country with complex political development, underdeveloped agriculture, and great poverty – Malawi. This area is known for its beautiful nature, with mountains, plains, and lakes. More than 20% of the country's land area (total area is 1,180,000km2) is covered by water, and the population is 14 million people.
Coffee in Malawi is not one of the main agricultural commodities, those are maize, rice, cotton, sweet potatoes, etc. But locals have cultivated it since the 18th century. The coffee plants in Malawi have been affected by a fungal disease, causing a noticeable drop in production. Farmers have joined together in communities to deal with such challenges and negotiate fair prices on the market.
One of these, named after the capital of Malawi's northern region, Mzuzu, brings together some 3,000 coffee growers from the region's six cooperatives. Each producer in Mzuzu, 25% of whom are women, farms an average of 5 hectares of land. Mzuzu's philosophy extends beyond helping farmers sell their coffee. It also focuses on gender equality and supports initiatives like hospital construction and community programs.
The AAA classification points to Malawi's exceptionally large coffee beans, reflecting a grading system used for coffee in Tanzania, Zambia, or Kenya.

Coffee packaging preview
Our quality aluminum packaging lacks any bold graphics, as we’d rather focus on the taste of our coffee. It always comes fresh thanks to degassing valve, which releases the gases that occur after roasting. Thanks to the hermetic seal, this container helps the contents further keep their freshness and protect them against humidity, light or foreign odors.
