Code: 2546

Coffee from the Nicaraguan farm of Las Campanillas will transport you to the cool slopes of Matagalpa where these delicate yet intense beans originate. Thanks to the shorter roasting process, suitable for pour over coffee, you’ll notice their natural, pure, bright taste. Taste & Crema

Light roasted Nicaragua Washed SHG EP Las Campanillas will captivate you with its refreshing, fruity taste profile with a subtle citrus line as well as sweet notes of apples. In the finish, the taste morphs into a smooth, chocolate-nutty gradient which completes this clean and harmonious experience so reminiscent of other Central America arabicas. If prepared in a dripper, this coffee unfolds slowly. First, you’ll notice the slight acidity, then its sweetness, and finally an elegant, velvety finish. A perfect choice for those who love light, refreshing, and original flavors.

Origins

In the heart of Nicaragua, between the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, lie the mountainous regions of Matagalpa and Jinotega. A poet might say that they are the landscapes of fog, heavy rainfall, and volcanic soil. It is here that Nicaragua Washed SHG EP Las Campanillas Arabica is grown; a coffee ranked among the purest and best-processed beans in Central America.

The abbreviation SHG (Strictly High Grown) indicates that the coffee trees grew high in the mountains, where lower temperatures cause the fruits to develop more slowly and concentrate more sugars and aromas in the beans. The EP (European Preparation) designation confirms that each bean has been hand-sorted and meets strict European quality standards.

The Rizo family farm – the one responsible for cultivating this coffee – is one of the most respected in the region. For more than two centuries, it’s been tending hundreds of hectares of plantations, where harvesting is done exclusively by hand and with respect for the environment. The coffee trees grow in the shade of local trees, which protect the soil and natural biodiversity. After harvesting, the coffee cherries undergo processing using the washed method. This enhances the fresh, clean tones and ensures the exceptional consistency of the resulting coffee.

We roasted Las Campanillas beans to a light roast level intended for pour over coffee. This type of roasting emphasizes their natural character and develops delicate, fruity, and floral tones that would be lost in a darker roast. As a result, the coffee retains its higher acidity, sparkling freshness, and multi-layered flavor. It’s light on the tongue but has a distinctive aromatic structure. This makes it the ideal choice for lovers of filter coffee who want to experience the true essence of this gem.

We also have to mention that Las Campanillas coffee regularly ranks among the select Arabica coffees with a rating of over 83 points according to the SCA, which confirms its top quality.

Coffee packaging preview

Our quality aluminum packaging lacks any bold graphics, as we’d rather focus on the taste of our coffee. It always comes fresh thanks to degassing valve, which releases the gases that occur after roasting. Thanks to the hermetic seal, this container helps the contents further keep their freshness and protect them against humidity, light or foreign odors.

Instructions for preparation

  1. Coarsely grind your coffee.
  2. Using a V60 filter, add 1g of coffee per 14ml of water.
  3. Using circular motions, cover the coffee with boiled water (93°C).
