Ingredients
100 % Arabica, Natural aromaTaste & Crema
Salted Caramel Decaf coffee tastes just like the name suggests. The foundation of Brazilian arabica is characterized by the taste of nuts and chocolate and enhanced with the aroma of sweet caramel and a few grains of salt. This coffee can be used in a wide range of preparations – it is great on filter or from an automatic coffee machine.
Origins
Two important things you need to know about this coffee – where it comes from and how it's decaffeinated. Let us get to it.
The Sul de Minas region is in the south of the Federative Republic of Brazil. Its mild climate is influenced by the proximity to the Serra da Mantiqueira mountain range, and its economy is determined by agriculture, with an emphasis on growing coffee trees. Farmers benefit from a favorable climate, excellent soil composition and ideal rainfall. They tend to cultivate plantations of around 10 hectares, which allows them to focus not only on speciality coffees but also on microlot coffees.
The harvest usually happens in the summer, and from June to September, workers go out to the coffee plantations with large baskets or sacks to collect ripe coffee cherries. In some cases, they use machinery, often choosing to shake the fruit onto tarpaulins spread on the ground.
The berries then go to a processing plant where they are washed. First, they are stripped of their tough skins in water, then they're left to ferment, and finally, the loose green coffee beans need to be dried well. That is done either in the direct Brazilian sun or in drying rooms. In both cases, farmers must take care to turn the coffee beans regularly to prevent them from becoming moldy.
The decaffeination process neds to be extremely gentle to prevent the loss of the signature taste and aroma. We do not want to deprive you of any of the wonderful qualities of coffee. Thanks to Swiss Water's trademarked process, which uses activated charcoal extraction to get rid of the caffeine and keep everything we love high-quality arabica. The so-called Swiss method does not work with chemicals - it removes the caffeine from the coffee through physical processes.
Now, all that's left for you to know how we've added the delicious flavor of salted caramel. It's simple: the roaster splashes the coffee with a carrier oil containing aromatics. These are stored deep inside the coffee beans and stay there until you make the coffee at home.
Making flavored coffee in an automatic coffee machine
|
If you intend to make flavored coffee in an automatic coffee maker with a tray, we recommend checking the instructions for the coffee maker to ensure this is possible. If the machine manufacturer does not provide any information on flavored coffee, follow these recommendations: The natural aroma in this coffee may react with the plastic in the tray and cause it to spot on prolonged contact.
Apply same rules when grinding flavored coffee in grinders (both manual and electric). |

Coffee packaging preview
Our quality aluminum packaging lacks any bold graphics, as we’d rather focus on the taste of our coffee. It always comes fresh thanks to degassing valve, which releases the gases that occur after roasting. Thanks to the hermetic seal, this container helps the contents further keep their freshness and protect them against humidity, light or foreign odors.
