Origins
Peruvian coffees are famous all around the world. That is partly because they grow high up in the mountains, where a unique combination of climate and soil conditions affect the coffee trees, but also due to the absence of industrial fertilizers and sprays. Local farmers in the high Andes simply cannot afford to use them. Moreover, in many cases, they would likely not even be able get them to the hard-to-reach plantations. For this reason, Arabica from Puno is considered to be of the same quality as organic coffee. Coffee plants as tall as four metres bear fruit almost all year round. Coffee cherries take 9-14 months to ripen and are harvested continuously.
The coffee beans are extracted by a method called washing. This involves pouring the cherries into the water, pushing them through special stands to remove the pulp, and fermenting the coffee beans in the water for up to 36 hours. Then they must be stripped of moisture, so they are dried in drying rooms or direct sunlight. We always aromatize the coffee just before it is shipped to the customer.
The delicate process, which changes the chemical composition of the coffee beans at high temperatures, is entirely the responsibility of our experienced roaster. Before roasting, he sprays the coffee with a carrier oil with a natural aroma. It allows the aroma and flavor, in this case hazelnut, to be easily incorporated into the beans and remain there for a long time.
Making Flavored Coffee in an Automatic Coffee Maker
|
If you intend to make flavored coffee in an automatic coffee maker with a tray, we recommend checking the instructions for the coffee maker to ensure this is possible. If the machine manufacturer does not provide any information on flavored coffee, follow these recommendations: The natural aroma in this coffee may react with the plastic in the tray and cause it to spot on prolonged contact.
Apply same rules when grinding flavored coffee in grinders (both manual and electric). |

Coffee packaging preview
Our quality aluminum packaging lacks any bold graphics, as we’d rather focus on the taste of our coffee. It always comes fresh thanks to degassing valve, which releases the gases that occur after roasting. Thanks to the hermetic seal, this container helps the contents further keep their freshness and protect them against humidity, light or foreign odors.
