Taste & Crema

This flavored coffee is based on great coffee beans from Peru, so you will recognize the signature chocolate and fruit notes. The natural aroma adds a hint of sweet marzipan and juicy oranges. Overall, the drink is harmonious and flavorful.

Origins

To learn about the origin of this coffee, we need to spend some time in Peru. That's where we brought the flavored coffee beans from, and it is one of the top 20 coffee producers in the world. However, its inhabitants are not entirely coffee lovers. Peruvians are said to consume an average of just 800g a year per capita. That is why much more of Peru's great harvests reach the USA, Germany, Colombia, Sweden, and Belgium. About a 250,000t of green beans a year, mostly of the arabica variety.

Many farmers in Peru are organized under Centrocafe, a cooperative that runs processing plants and looks after financial, marketing, and business affairs. The vast majority of Centrocafe's coffee is organic, and 100% Fair Trade certified. Thanks to this organization, Peruvian coffee has risen to global prominence and stands up well in the face of stiff competition. We chose one of Peru's excellent coffees, Peru Andes Gold, and flavored it with natural aromas. The original unique, chocolatey-fruity character has been given extra attractive notes of marzipan and oranges.

Peru Andes Gold is an alpine coffee grown in the difficult terrain of the Andes. It comes from plantations in the Puno region, famous for Lake Titicaca. The coffee plants (Coffea arabica) are harvested several times a year by farmers so that only the ripest fruits with a rich flavor and aroma go to processing. The red coffee cherries are then stripped of their top skin and sweet pulp (by fermenting them in containers of water) using a process known as washing. Finally, they dry the loosened green coffee beans in drying ovens or direct sunlight. As for the aroma mentioned above, the roaster sprays the green beans with carrier oil before roasting and only then adds the natural aroma. The aroma and flavor are thus perfectly incorporated into the coffee beans, last a long time, and, unlike cheaper processes, are not altered by roasting.

Making Flavored Coffee in an Automatic Coffee Maker

If you intend to make flavored coffee in an automatic coffee maker with a tray, we recommend checking the instructions for the coffee maker to ensure this is possible. If the machine manufacturer does not provide any information on flavored coffee, follow these recommendations:

The natural aroma in this coffee may react with the plastic in the tray and cause it to spot on prolonged contact.

  • Always use only as much flavored coffee as you will immediately consume.
  • After preparing your flavored coffee, make your next cup with unflavored coffee.

Apply same rules when grinding flavored coffee in both manual and electric grinders.

Coffee packaging preview

Our quality aluminum packaging lacks any bold graphics, as we’d rather focus on the taste of our coffee. It always comes fresh thanks to degassing valve, which releases the gases that occur after roasting. Thanks to the hermetic seal, this container helps the contents further keep their freshness and protect them against humidity, light or foreign odors.

Instructions for preparation

Grind your coffee according to your preferred method.
Use 14ml of water per 1g of coffee. For 1 cup of coffee use 7g.
Add your coffee and cover with boiled water (95°C).
