Rwanda Fully Washed Muhondo – Light Roast Coffee
This coffee is a true treat. It's from the high mountains, so of course it's highly prized. Light roast Rwandan arabica tastes like a velvet kiss, with juicy lemons and sweetness of cane sugar. Thanks to the light roast, its fruity line stands out beautifully, as does its delicacy and smoothness. Prepare it on the filter and it will take you among the green hills of beautiful and wild Africa.
Ingredients
100 % ArabicaTaste & Crema
Rwanda Fully Washed Muhondo light roast coffee beans combine one of the best African arabicas and one of the most interesting roasting methods. As a result, you can now taste a velvety, smooth and pleasantly citrusy coffee in which you will not only recognize the freshness of kiwi and oranges but also the sweetness of cane sugar. The exquisite taste and aroma are best when brewed on a filter, but you can also try an automatic coffee machine.
Origins
The place where the coffee grows always matters a lot. In the case of Rwanda Fully Washed Muhondo, the hills are volcanic, and the soil is rich in minerals. Combined with the East African alpine climate, a unique microclimate is created. The Arabic coffee plant (Coffea arabica) thrives in cooler temperatures. They allow the beans to ripen longer, allowing the flavour to concentrate for many months.
Rwanda itself, the Republic of Rwanda, was introduced to coffee at the time of colonization. In the 1930s, under the supervision of the Belgians and Germans, farmers there began to grow high-yielding, low-cost varieties. Quality was not the most important feature of Rwandan coffee. In the 1990s, the country suffered a national tragedy, with almost a million people killed and development slowed to a halt. It was only at the beginning of the new millennium that the government began to encourage the population to grow more coffee trees. Since then, it has promoted its quality, encouraged participation in auctions and ensured fair export conditions.
Today, Rwanda contributes 0.2% of the world coffee market. But its reputation is growing rapidly. It has won prizes in many international competitions.
It is reported that about 450,000 smallholder coffee farmers in Rwanda grow coffee (an average of 165 coffee trees per farmer). Approximately 95% of the plants produce Bourbon coffee of the high-quality arabica variety. The coffee cherries are hand-harvested from March to July. Washed processing brings out a pleasant aroma and develops a fruity flavor.

Coffee packaging preview
Our quality aluminum packaging lacks any bold graphics, as we’d rather focus on the taste of our coffee. It always comes fresh thanks to degassing valve, which releases the gases that occur after roasting. Thanks to the hermetic seal, this container helps the contents further keep their freshness and protect them against humidity, light or foreign odors.
