Adaptogenic Coffee with Chicory
Adaptogenic Coffee with Chicory stands on a solid foundation of Brazilian arabica combined with a carefully selected blend of herbs and mushrooms with a whole list of functional properties. Chicory and dandelion bring a mild, round flavor while making the distinct taste of coffee lighter. And adaptogens such as ashwagandha, maca, or reishi move it towards the harmony of body and mind.
Ingredients
Arabica, 16 % Roasted chicory root, Dandelion root, Ceylon cinnamon , Shatavari BIO, Maca BIO, Ashwagandha BIO, Chinese Chaga BIO, Reishi BIOTaste & Crema
After you brew Adaptogenic Coffee with Chicory, you'll be welcomed with the familiar, full aroma of freshly ground coffee – but this time with a slightly earthy, mildly sweet undertone. That's thanks to chicory and dandelion, which make the profile of coffee milder and more round. In the taste, you'll gradually notice the warm notes of cinnamon, slight bitterness of the functional mushrooms, and a velvety, almost caramel finish.
The body of flavor is moderately full, smooth, and without sharp acidity. The bitter note is cultured and doesn't dominate other sensations – on the contrary, it gives way for the adaptogenic ingredients to fully unfold. The finish is gently earthy and has a lasting, calming aftertaste.
Origins
The foundation of this blend is Brazil Santos Arabica coffee, known for its balanced and delicate taste. We've built this entire healthy treat around it – much like with other coffee blends, the origin of the beans is fundamental for the final flavor. This time, however, it's accompanied by ingredients that deserve to be looked into to fully appreciate them.
Chicory (Cichorium intybus) is an unassuming plant with distinctive blue flowers. You can find it along roadsides and in meadows throughout Europe. Chicory coffee is made with its root, which, after drying and roasting, transforms into an aromatic ingredient with a subtly sweet, slightly caramel-like flavor. Chicory is valued not only for its flavor but also for supporting normal liver function, digestion, and blood glucose levels.
Chicory contains, for example:
- inulin,
- bitter compounds,
- polyphenols
- minerals.
Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera), sometimes called Indian ginseng, is a low shrub native to India and North Africa. Its small orange fruits contain seeds, but the root is our primary focus. It has a distinctly earthy, slightly bitter taste. Ashwagandha is one of the best-known adaptogens, meaning it helps the body better cope with stress and supports mental balance.Indian ginseng is rich in:
- withanolides,
- alkaloids,
- saponins,
- antioxidants.
Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum), a wood-decay mushroom with a glossy, lacquer-like surface, grows primarily on the trunks of deciduous trees in Asia. Its fruiting body is a distinctive dark red to brown hue and grows in a characteristic fan-shaped clusters. In traditional medicine, reishi has been associated with vitality and longevity for centuries. It supports the body’s natural defenses and normal circulatory system function.
Reishi contains:
- beta-glucans,
- triterpenes,
- polysaccharides,
- sterols.
The remaining ingredients round out the blend’s profile and provide additional functional benefits. Dandelion root coffee supports digestion, liver function, and detoxifies the body while also acting as an antioxidant. Cinnamon helps maintain normal blood sugar levels and supports digestion and the cardiovascular system. Shatavari is associated with vitality, hormonal balance, and mental well-being, while maca supports fertility, the hormonal system, and overall energy levels. Chaga, another functional mushroom, is valued for its antioxidant properties and supports the immune system.
Coffee packaging preview
Our quality aluminum packaging lacks any bold graphics, as we’d rather focus on the taste of our coffee. It always comes fresh thanks to degassing valve, which releases the gases that occur after roasting. Thanks to the hermetic seal, this container helps the contents further keep their freshness and protect them against humidity, light or foreign odors.
