Origins
Rose: the so-called queen of flowers. It enchants everyone with its beauty, fragrance and symbolism of love. But let us move away from romantic notions and focus on the rose as described by botanists. The rose (Rosa) belongs to the family Rosaceae. There are approximately 150 species of wild roses in the world, and many other cultivars and varieties are grown for their aesthetic and aromatic qualities.
It is an herb or shrub with thorns whose flower is composed of petals that form a crown. Roses come in a variety of colors such as red, pink, white, yellow and even purple. Their scent is fresh, sweet and rich at the same time.
It is the rose scent that is the basis of the aroma that is applied in the production of the syrup. A technique called extraction is used to obtain this exceptional aroma. There are several extraction methods, the most common being steam distillation. The rose flowers are placed in a special machine where they are exposed to steam, which extracts their aromatic components. The steam is then condensed to produce a liquid called rose water, containing concentrated rose aroma.
Another method is the dissolution of fats. The rose flowers are immersed in fat, which absorbs their scent. It produces an essential oil rich in rose aromatics. When you taste our Rose Espresso Syrup, remember that you are indulging in a little bit of true natural magic. Let yourself be transported into a world of rose bliss.
